A humbling and enthralling experience, the great views of the Yellowstone National Park at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone are truly a sight to behold. Viewpoints named "Artist Point", "Inspiration Point", "Grand View" and similar give you an idea of what to expect. The canyon carved by the Yellowstone River is 20 miles long and up to 1,200 feet deep with a river that tumbles 308 feet/94 meters (twice the height of Niagara Falls) dampening it's surrounding rocks so constantly that bright green moss grows high above the water.
Yellowstone is a must-see for hikers and backpackers, campers, artists looking for inspiration in beautiful sceneries as well as visitors that would like to get away from the buzz of the modern world into unspoiled nature, wherein most accommodations you will find no televisions, radios, air conditioning or internet (although Wi-Fi is available at specific locations).
The majority of Yellowstone National Park (96%) is located within Wyoming.
